Purpose of Role

The Executive plays a central role within the Energy, Cleantech & Sustainability (ECS) Team, Government and Infrastructure Advisory (GIA) department within Grant Thornton UK LLP. This is an exciting opportunity that will provide exposure to privately and publically owned clients, whilst developing a variety of business advisory skills. The post holder will work primarily as part of the ECS team but operating across the wider GIA team as required, effectively providing a hands on advisory service that meets or exceeds client expectations and supports the partner/manager team.

Main Responsibilities

• To support and contribute to a broad range of engagements in both the financial advisory and consulting parts of the business
• Contributes to the development of the firm’s GIA team methodology and market knowledge through involvement in technical and /or sector-based taskforces, primarily in relation to ECS
• Takes responsibility for assigned areas, including having own work reviewed and works to time and budget
• Monitors time incurred and undertakes analysis as the project progresses to assist the manager as appropriate

Experience/Education/Qualifications required:

• Strong MS Office skills including excel at advanced level, with ability to create and review spreadsheets
• Evidence of working on the evaluation of bids in public sector procurement context. In particular, writing up financial analysis in a format and style that is understandable to non-financial focussed clients
• A keen interest in the energy, cleantech and sustainability sector
• Excellent communication skills and able to manage relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
